How to walk a faster mile
- Shorten, then quicken. Overstriding brakes you. Take shorter steps and increase cadence toward 120–135 steps a minute.
- Bend your arms to 90°. A shorter arm pendulum swings faster, and your legs follow its rhythm.
- Roll heel to toe. Land on the heel, push off hard through the toes.
- Practise intervals. Alternate fast and easy minutes with the workout generator; your steady pace rises within weeks.
