Understanding Walking Speed
Your walking speed is a key indicator of fitness and health. Regular walkers who track their speed can see improvements over time as they build cardiovascular endurance and leg strength.
Speed Categories Explained:
Casual (2.0-2.9 mph):

Moderate (3.0-3.9 mph):

Terrain Matters!
Walking on hills or rough terrain significantly increases effort. A 3.5 mph pace on steep hills is equivalent to a much faster pace on flat ground. Don't compare trail speeds directly to flat road speeds!
